Nothing ruins a cute bra faster than sweat or deodorant stains. Clear gel deodorant is one way to prevent stains from forming, but if you prefer white sticks or roll-on, you may have to do a little strategic scrubbing to remove the marks they may leave behind. You don't have to switch deodorants; you just have to use the right laundry products and washing technique and take a bit of extra time when cleaning your bras.

Things You’ll Need

  • Powdered oxygen cleaner

  • Toothbrush

  • Gentle laundry detergent

Step 1

Mix 1 tablespoon of oxygen powder with 2 tablespoons of water and stir to form a thick paste.

Step 2

Dip an old toothbrush into the oxygen powder paste and scrub the stains. Use a generous amount to cover the stain on both sides. Allow the paste to work for 15 to 30 minutes before washing the bra.

Step 3

Fill a sink or basin with just enough lukewarm water to cover the bra. While the water is running, add 1 tablespoon of mild laundry detergent.

Step 4

Submerge the bra in the soapy water and swish it back and forth. Scrub the stains again while the bra is underwater by rubbing the stained fabric against itself. Continue scrubbing until the stains come out. If the fabric is lacy or delicate, scrub sparingly.

Step 5

Hang the bra to dry.

Tip

Treat deodorant stains as soon as you see them forming. The longer you allow the stains to set, the harder it will be to remove them.

Warning

Never dry a bra in the dryer, as this can warp underwires and cause unnecessary wear.
