With a catchy name that announces its intentions, Thinny Chips are Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich Company's answer to fat-laden potato chips. While the company also offers full-fat chips as well, Thinny Chips are an alternative for those who want a lighter accompaniment to their meal. Similar renditions made by the company of this product have been called Skinny Chips.

A 1 oz. serving of Jimmy John's Skinny Chips or Thinny Chips contains about 18 chips and130 calories, compared to its regular chips, which are 150 calories. The fat content of Thinny Chips is 5 grams, as opposed to 14 grams in the regular chips. Carbohydrate content is slightly higher at 19 grams, compared to 16 grams. Protein content of 2 grams is the same for regular and thin version of chips.

Nutritional Facts

Thinny Chips contain 1 gram of saturated fat per serving, 2 grams of polyunsaturated fat and 3 grams of monounsaturated fat, for a total fat content of 5 grams. There are no trans fats in Thinny Chips. Thirty-five percent of total calories come from fat, as compared to 64 percent in regular chips. Thinny Chips contain no cholesterol, have 105 mg of sodium, 370 mg of potassium, 2 grams of fiber and 1 gram of sugar. Percent of daily values for nutrients include 15 percent vitamin C and 4 percent iron.

Meal Combinations

As a lower fat product with a healthy emphasis, Thinny Chips are best paired with sandwiches that also have a healthy bent. Among Jimmy John's sandwiches, healthy partnerings include a vegetarian sub with avocado spread and alfalfa sprouts, or an Unwich, which is Jimmy John's low-carb lettuce wrap version of its sub or club sandwiches.
